I think HELP is doing a great job! I think the funding model is a good one ie: having the volunteers essentially fund the projects. It is good to know that all the money goes to the projects because there are no unnecessary overheads. I also appreciate that HELP is focussed on improving educational outcomes for children rather than providing services for “voluntourists”. (HELP is) a very professional and ethically sound organisation with a real human element. Also extremely cheap when compared to many of the GAP year organisations. The application process was relatively stress free and the recommendations made by Jim Coleman of accommodation and school were spot on for me.
