EXPERIENCE SUMMARY: A very special experience which will stay with me for a long time. Also an experience which I very much hope (and look forward) to repeat.
OTHER DETAILS: Thank you HELP for this wonderful experience! All the work that Barbara did before I went on my assignment was very helpful. I very much hope to stay I contact with HELP and do another assignment in the future. I recommended HELP to all my friends in the Netherlands and abroad.
HOW HELPFUL WERE YOUR BRIEFING MATERIALS?: It provided me with a realistic view on the experience. The information is great and, because things do not move that fast in the Himalaya’s, it is still quite up to date!
HOW HELPFUL WAS THE TEFL STARTER PACK?: Very helpful! The songs and games were a great inspiration for lesson plans and warmers/fillers.
Maybe it is useful to ask previous volunteers to scan their succesful lesson plans and provide them to future volunteers. I posted mine on the wall in the library!
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HELP?: HELP is an organization which gave me a good feeling from the first time I laid eyes on its website. It is a wonderful, idealistic and efficient charity. Not in it for the money, but to actually make a difference.
