Volunteer postings update

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

We currently have three volunteers in place at schools in Sikkim and West Bengal, with ten more lined up to join their schools within the next few weeks. And we already have a volunteer lined up for a placement next March! Unfortunately, the volunteer who had wanted to teach at the Annapurna High School, which is 3,500 metres above sea-level, contracted pneumonia while on his travels in Tibet, which would have made a high altitude assignment inadvisable. He is going to a school in the Teesta valley in West Bengal instead.
