As a young man, I spent two years as a UNA volunteer in Kathmandu, based in the UNDP office, and have made many visits to the Eastern Himalayas since then.

Recently retired from my full-time job, I'd like to use my time to do something for a people that have meant so much to me. Since my career has been in education, both as a teacher, and as an education manager with the British Council, I decided that the way in which I could best make a contribution is by establishing an organisation that would channel resources, both human and financial, directly to schools and orphanages.

I make use of trusted contacts, whom I have known over three decades, to identify the schools and young people that could benefit most from HELP's assistance. It is my aim that HELP will play a valuable role in providing educational opportunities for young people who might not otherwise be able to realise their hopes of achieving a better life for themselves and their families.
